Sitting pretty [informal]: ‘to be in a good, safe, or comfortable position’. For the founder and designer of Sitting Pretty, Emma Longden, being in this position in the fashion industry means embracing slower, more ethical processes. Emma started her Cape Town-based clothing, footwear and accessories brand in April of 2009 out of a desire to create beautiful, timeless pieces that would make the wearer feel comfortable and confident. Sitting Pretty has since evolved into a brand that places environmental awareness at the forefront of its mission by sourcing only natural fibres and committing to using no polyester.
