The Cotton Company

Just follow the thread of weaving’s history and you’ll always find it closely connected to the family unit. Madeleine Hugo of The Cotton Company knows this all too well. It was through a serendipitous road trip to the Turkish countryside that she met a family of authentic Turkish towel weavers whose hand-crafted technique went all the way down to hand-tying the fringes of each superbly durable, soft, and absorbent towel; a luxury she knew she needed to share with South Africa. Made of raw linen and pure Turkish cotton, the unique flat woven ‘Zeytin’ towel with its earthy olive-green stripe is among our favourites.
