Did you know that creating a natural green dye is surprisingly incredibly hard? Despite being the most abundant natural shade on the planet, green was one of the colours that took this Cape Town botanical dye studio a particularly long time to perfect. Using only what nature gives them — and is seasonally available — Beagle + Basset has been hand-dyeing small batches of sustainable fibres with locally-foraged plants for almost three years to create unique ranges of homeware and clothing. The natural dyeing process is slow and labour-intensive, but the fruits of that labour are some of the richest colours around, which, when paired with their minimalist approach to design, makes inimitable dresses, shirts, hats and more.
