Mixing and melding colourant into playdough, the magical whimsy of colour first enchanted her as a three-year-old. Years later, Amy Keevy still explores colour with each brushstroke, artfully articulating its effect on her. Using warm tones of ochre, rust, burnt umber, and sienna, she embraces the unexpected changes wrought by wet ink on paper. She sees painting as poetry, drawing inspiration from the female form, lunar movement, and the world she occupies, organically intertwining femininity, warmth, uncertainty, and abstraction. Each piece emotively produced in Amy Keevy Studio—whether undulating watercolour or delicately intricate ink on paper and canvas—is a hauntingly beautiful ode to life.
