Crates of Beauty is a furniture and home decor collective, the spark of which was flamed to vibrant life during the pandemic. Nursing a broken heart amidst the flotsam of a life turned upside down, Bernadette De la Guerre found a new purpose in creating beauty and meaningful design. What began as a personal pursuit has grown into a business centred on crafting exquisite lighting and home decor using bespoke rattan and palm raffia weaves. Her morning ritual of seeking beauty in Bali transformed into a fulfilling new purpose, inspiring her to bring this vision and artistry to South Africa. Located in Joostenbergvlakte, Cape Town, all their artisans weave locally on-site, and we take pride in manufacturing 100% in South Africa, from design to completion, using carefully selected sustainable natural materials. The result is a captivating range of lighting solutions, home decor, and signature pieces that celebrate superior quality, thoughtful design, and timeless craftsmanship.
