Crates of Beauty is a furniture and home decor collective, the spark of which was flamed to vibrant life during the pandemic. Nursing a broken heart amidst the flotsam of a life turned upside down, Bernadette de la Guerre finally had the time to pinpoint the perfect suppliers to bring her vision of lighting and home decor in bespoke rattan, palm raffia weaves, and sungkai wood to fruition. And so her morning pursuit of finding beauty in Bali became a healing new purpose. These days, Crates of Beauty imports authentic Indonesian materials to South Africa from ethically proven suppliers with an unwavering sustainability ethos. Once here, they oversee manufacturing in person, working alongside a collective of skilled artisans and trusted suppliers. The result is a captivating range of lighting solutions, home decor, and signature pieces that celebrate rare materials, superior quality, and thoughtful design.
