CrissCross is a local creative ensemble offering a range of handwoven products made by upskilled South African artisans who craft elegant-yet-practical creations from repurposed carpet fibres using traditional knotting techniques. Inspired by passionate individuals who believe in making their own way through creativity and relentless determination, CrissCross works hand-in-hand with Belgotex as part of The Go Group initiative. Each artisan is trained and graduates from The Go Group’s Textile Conversion Programme. These programmes are based on proven development practices that are rooted in applied science. Each Go-Getter earns their own income as a self-employed individual by producing international quality carpet products made from Belgotex Yarn to replace imported versions. CrissCross also offers a lovely range of smaller items like handbags and baskets, which Go-Getters can create at home because it is easy to transport and does not need to be manufactured at The Go Group’s premises.
