Growing up in sunny South Africa, most coastal dwellers spend their summers soaking up as much sun, salt, and surf as possible. It is this life-long love affair with the ocean that inspired nature lover, Gabrielle Kool, to launch her swimwear brand. Gabrielle Swimwear was launched in 2012, when Gabrielle realised it was next to impossible to find a beautiful, locally-made cossie created from high-quality fabrics, that also tread lightly on the earth. What started as a stall-based market business, quickly grew to a fully-fledged enterprise that brought Gabrielle and her range of eponymous swimsuits and seaside clothing to Cape Town. These days Gabrielle Swimwear is renowned for its exclusive botanical prints that show off South African flora, as well as an ethical production process that considers environmental impact from start to finish. Best of all, their range is now created using REPREVE fabric, which is created using 82% recycled plastic bottles cleaned up along coastlines. We love swimsuits that make waves in all the right ways!
