FABER is a local leather brand that grew from a series of beautiful surprises that turned into a home-grown love story for the ages... Johan and Claudia weren't people who believed in love at first sight — right until the moment it happened. Claudia had just returned from exhibiting her art in Europe and ended up on a friend's farm helping with a film festival. This is where she first encountered Johan, on horseback with his own handmade leather tack no less! A mutual love of leather turned into captivating life together as they got married, started a family, and a business called FABER. Starting in a small farm garage, they added machines and trained young artisans to make high-quality saddles and leather lifestyle products. Together, they became a growing team who reveres excellence, builds exceptional products, develops people, and furthers God's kingdom. Today, FABER is renowned for its range of lovingly developed, expertly crafted leather products that include luggage, accessories, and equine essentials, as well as an inspired collection of Karoo Huijs textiles, and whimsical Kleijne Faber children's backpacks.
