They all serve as the inspiration behind the unique jewellery that born-and-bred Capetonian, Katharina Barth, creates for her brand Katmeleon Jewellery. Katharina — affectionately known as Kat — started Katmeleon in 2016 after studying jewellery design at CPUT and spending two years in the industry gaining experience. She soon brought her own unique approach to day-to-day accessories to markets throughout the Cape. In many ways, Katmeleon takes on the versatile role in jewellery design that the chameleon takes on in nature: shifting with the trends and inspirations that cross Katharina’s path. And these versatile sterling silver, copper and brass pieces, such as the delicious monster earrings and galaxy necklaces, certainly keep her fans coming back for more.
